Who we are

A faith-rooted framework for community wellness

Lifting3Veils brings the wisdom of faith communities into conversation with behavioral health, family advocacy, restorative justice, leadership development, and public safety. We help congregations become places where people can be seen, supported, and connected to the right care.

Faith is not an afterthought in this work. It is a trusted relationship, a source of resilience, and a place to begin healing.

Organizational overview

Founded in 2020 and based in Los Angeles, California, Lifting3Veils is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working where faith, mental health, and justice intersect. Through licensed clinical care, psychoeducational training, and faith-rooted leadership, the organization equips individuals, families, and communities to overcome trauma, addiction, grief, and systemic injustice — and to thrive in wholeness of mind, body, and spirit.

Mission

To equip faith leaders, clinicians, and families with evidence-informed, culturally affirming tools that integrate spiritual resilience and mental wellness — fostering healing, empowerment, and sustainable community transformation.

Vision

A world where faith, mental health, and social awareness converge to dismantle cycles of trauma, empower generations, and cultivate communities rooted in dignity, healing, and collective strength.

Our approach

Why Lifting3Veils?

01

Evidence-Informed

Clinical psychological insight is integrated with faith-based principles. Programs are led by professionals with expertise in ministry, psychology, and substance abuse facilitation, and are grounded in trauma-informed and TBRI®-certified practice.

02

Congregation-Strengthening

Churches and ministry teams are equipped to recognize trauma, reduce stigma, and create trusted pathways to care — honoring the role congregations already play in the lives of families.

03

Community-Driven

Curricula and materials are accessible, culturally competent, and tested in the churches, schools, clinics, and neighborhoods that use them — designed with community leaders rather than delivered to them.

Impact Built Through Education and Partnership

Program outcomes, participant counts and partnership results are documented and shared directly with funders and partners on request.

Our ministry commitments

The values that guide the work

We serve the whole person and the whole community, holding spiritual care and professional practice together with humility.

Education
Education lifts the veil of ignorance. We develop curricula and training that bridge faith-based wisdom with evidence-informed mental health practice so leaders and families can act with knowledge, not fear.
Spiritual Formation
Spiritual life is treated as a source of resilience, not a substitute for care. We help leaders create space for reflection, prayer, honest conversation, and trauma-informed support that strengthens emotional and psychological wellbeing.
Human Dignity
Every person is met with respect regardless of diagnosis, record, income, or circumstance. We advocate for those most often overlooked and normalize help-seeking as a sign of strength.
Cultural Humility
Care must fit the people receiving it. Our materials and trainings are culturally responsive and theologically literate, honoring diverse faith traditions and lived experience.
Collaboration
We build interdisciplinary partnerships among clergy, clinicians, educators, and social service providers so support systems hold together instead of operating in isolation.
Justice & Restoration
We address historical and systemic trauma through culturally rooted frameworks — pursuing repair, reentry, and restoration rather than punishment alone.

Partnership framework

How We Build Partnerships That Last

  1. 01

    Listen

We begin with the community, not a template — meeting leaders, staff, and families to understand the trauma, capacity, and culture already present.

  2. 02

    Co-Design

Curriculum and session design are customized to your team's needs, audience, and faith or organizational context before any training date is set.

  3. 03

    Deliver

Interactive facilitation with prepared materials, Q&A, and discussion built for immediate application — single sessions or multi-day trainings.

  4. 04

    Evaluate

Post-session follow-up and partner feedback tell us what changed, working with academic and clinical partners to refine the intervention.

  5. 05

    Sustain

Local leaders are equipped with tools, resource packets, and referral pathways so the work continues after we leave the room.
